Have you been thinking about becoming a nurse? There are probably hundreds of reasons why it’s a great idea, but we’ve narrowed it down to these five:

Employment Opportunities: The need for qualified nurses continues to grow. Until we come up with a cure for, well… everything, people will continue to get sick and need the care of doctors and nurses.

Rewarding: As a nurse, you are given the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on your patients’ lives every single day. You will help to relieve their pain and suffering while boosting morale and hope. There are few professions out there which allow the kind of personal interaction nurses are able to have with their patients.

Variety: As a nurse, there are many different types of positions available within the field. You may work with babies, children, the elderly, emergency cases or all of the above! No two days are the same for a nurse.

Room for growth: Nurses have plenty of room to grow professionally either through further education or simply from work experience. Nurses are able to move up to management positions within hospitals or clinics and even may work towards a doctorate degree in nursing.

Schedule: There are so many options for nurses in regards to when and where they are able to work. Many offices and clinics offer a weekday 9-5 schedule while hospitals offer shifts any time day or night. It’s possible to work full-time or part-time as a nurse.

A career in the medical field can be both challenging and exciting. If you like working with people, love making a difference and are open to a flexible schedule, a career in nursing could be for you!
