Brookline College Continuing Education and Training Courses:
ICD-10 Training (Online)
This course is an introduction to the ICD-10 coding process. It covers the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and reviews their changes and updates. The new codes, the structure, and the nature of the characters will be taught. Use of the appropriate coding reference manuals and guides to select diagnosis codes from ICD-10-CM and create procedure codes from ICD-10-PCS will be taught as well.
16 hours / unlimited online access for 2 months / $399; Program offers a certificate of completion. Coding books will be provided electronically.

Nursing Assistant (Phoenix, AZ, Tempe, AZ and Tucson, AZ Campuses)
The purpose of the Brookline Nursing Assistant program is to provide individuals with an educational program leading to an entry-level position in the field of health care. The on-campus and online courses in our Nursing Assistant program provide students with the requisite theory and skills to become competent, safe nursing assistants. The program meets or exceeds all requirements for nursing assistant programs as identified by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Graduates who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the Arizona State Board of Nursing certification examination for nursing assistants. The program consists of three courses, a classroom course, a laboratory course, and a clinical course totaling 146 hours. The classroom course requires 77 hours and focuses on the acquisition of foundational knowledge that is needed to provide patients with basic nursing care. The laboratory component consists of 29 hours and teaches clinical skills in a manner that allows students to apply knowledge learned in the classroom. The final course is a 40 hour clinical experience which provides students an opportunity to apply acquired knowledge and skills during hands-on experiences within an acute and/or long-term care setting.

Effective Time Management (Online)
This short course is designed for those who aim to obtain an overview of time management skills, concepts, and techniques, and wish to be encouraged to identify time challenges and set goals for prioritizing and planning in order to more effectively use his or her time. Participants will learn strategies for maximizing personal effectiveness, including organization, delegation, and the proper use of technology. Participants will also learn to identify signs of stress, and alleviate common stressors through effective time management.

Medical Interpreter (Phoenix and Tempe Campuses)
This course provides essential knowledge and skills necessary to perform Spanish to English medical interpretation. Specifically, the lessons present vocabulary, grammatical structures, logistics of the profession, and cultural information to help health care professionals understand and communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and clients.
Students who successfully complete the 40-hour course are eligible to sit for the Medical Interpreters certification examination from the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
