What will you learn at Brookline?
The Patient Care Technician Program provides training for entry-level positions to effectively function in the role of a patient care technician in a clinic, hospital, urgent care facility, rehabilitation facility or other health care environment. Students study topics that include: primary healthcare concepts, the role of the patient care technician, phlebotomy, physical and occupational therapy skills, and patient care skills, among other courses. Brookline aims at giving students experience in a variety of classroom and procedural capacities, ensuring they receive a well-rounded Diploma education. The Patient Care lab contains congruent materials and equipment that you may use on the job. Our program includes an externship where you will have the opportunity to act as a patient care technician first hand, working closely with patients, doctors, nurses and other healthcare personnel.

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics this field is expected to grow about 20% between 2010 and 2020, which is faster than average. The expected employment change is 302,000 jobs by the end of the decade!*
Starting your Career!
Graduates will have the opportunity to use their skills and knowledge in such areas as patient interaction, medical office administration, pharmacology, laboratory practices, electrocardiography and clinical patient care practices. They will also be able to appropriately assess patient/client situations and intervene within their scope of practice. These skills can be applied in an urgent care setting, a hospital, rehabilitation facility or other clinical setting
