The Phlebotomy Technician diploma program at Brookline College prepares graduates to take a national certification exam and provides training for entry-level positions in laboratories, clinics, hospitals and other medical facilities. Phlebotomy technicians perform a variety of routine blood drawing procedures to include venipuncture and utilize techniques using standard equipment such as vaccutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles. They prepare, process, label and store patient specimens and samples.
