  • Brookline’s program is designed to let you go to school on your time. Our online degree program is flexible and puts you at the center of your education.
  • You can be full-time or part-time, whichever works for your schedule. All MSN courses are offered every 8 weeks.

The Master of Science Nursing – Health Systems Administration program prepares graduates to assume a variety of administrative roles within academic or healthcare settings.  The curriculum provides the foundation for administrative practice through courses in health systems and policy, organizational leadership, and research applications.  Specialty courses provide learning related to organizational theory and dynamics; informatics; economics, accounting, and financial management; healthcare finance; legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations; and quality management.  The program includes a practicum course which promotes the application and utilization of advanced theoretical knowledge and offers students the opportunity to demonstrate advanced leadership/management competencies in a selected healthcare organization.

Upon completion of the Master of Science in Nursing – Health Systems Administration program, graduates will be able to:

Admissions - How Do I Get In?
Admissions Requirements

New students are enrolled six times per year.

  • All that’s required is a current RN license approved by your state or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an institution recognized by the Department of Education.
  • Application for admission and an interview with a Brookline Admission Representative.
Admission Process

Seven Simple Steps …

  1. Connect with a Brookline Admissions Representative by either submitting your contact information (Request Info), completing the application – (Apply Now) or calling (844) 769-0004.
  2. Attend a live, or virtual, planning session which includes both career and academic goals with an authorized Admissions Representative.
  3. Submit your state approved RN license in the U.S. or in a jurisdiction that is an associate member of the NCSBN.
  4. Submit official transcripts from each college or university you have attended or are currently attending.
  5. Complete a financial aid interview to develop a financial plan.
  6. Complete the Enrollment Agreement with an Admissions Representative to include collecting all necessary documentation.
  7.  Meet with Dean for Online Nursing regarding enrollment requests.

Upon completion of the admissions requirements, you will be notified by your Brookline Admissions Representative on your status.

Accreditation

Accreditation is the recognition that an institution maintains the standards required to achieve the credentials for professional practice. It is the status granted to an institution that meets or exceeds specific criteria of educational quality as defined by the accrediting agency.

The BSN pre-licensure program is currently on probation with the Arizona Board of Nursing (“AZBON”).  Brookline entered a consent agreement with AZBON, which requires Brookline to submit monthly reports.  The agreement can be found on the Arizona Board of Nursing’s website https://www.azbn.gov/. The BSN pre-licensure program is fully approved by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, nmbon.sks.com.

Practicum

Students will complete a 90-hour practicum experience with a RN with a MSN or higher degree in a role based on the MSN track for which the student is enrolled in. Some assistance is provided in acquiring practicum experiences.

What Is It Like Taking an Online Course?

If you have never taken an online course before and you’re a little nervous, that’s ok. We will help you prepare for online classes.

Brookline has several resources that can help you become acclimated to the online classroom. Your admissions representative can provide a personal tour of the online environment in which you will be taking classes and help you understand what you can expect when you log into your first class.

How Often Will I Go To Class?
There are no mandatory login times. Most classes require that you login two to three times per week. Check the course syllabus for information specific to your class.

What Are The Course Requirements?
­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­As noted in syllabi for each course include scholarly papers, analysis of learning through case studies experiences, or PowerPoint presentations uploaded to a learning management system. There are discussion questions that create dialogue among classmates based on articles, topics, or assigned reading; all assignments graded with posted rubrics.
